15th October 2016 – Review by Rob
Hobgoblin gold is a golden light pale ale style beer that also packs a light 4.5% slap on the cheeks, like its brother it is a very moreish session beer that you can neck a few and not worry about getting a rollocking from the missus when you get home as you’ll be more than like lightly sizzled rather than fully cut.
Smells like chemicals, tastes like an IPA, and is as inoffensive as Budweiser is to lager. No rude after taste and an ideal beer for July on a hot summer’s day when you’ve worked up a sweat. Food pairing will work with heavy flavoured foods like a Lamb Bhuna, steer clear of pairing with steak as you’ll look like a bellend in front of the lady you’re trying to impress. Wine for steak.
This is a mass produced beer for the masses and an ideal introduction to beer if you’ve only ever drunk the pre-formentioned pisswater Budweiser. Give it a try it won’t offend, even your nan will like it.
