Review by Andy
I’m putting this down as an Aldi own brew, although it does say on the bottle ‘Harper’s Brewing Co.’ – after a lot of painful searching I now believe Aldi made up the name Harper’s, a tactic they have used before apparently, and I believe that Marston’s may have brewed this for Aldi, although I can’t be 100% certain.
So if anyone knows anymore please let me know!
Described on the rather cool looking bottle as: A ruby red ale, a deep mahogany beer with rich toffee apple and roasted chocolate aromas.
Once poured this certainly looks as it should, in the light this has more than a hint of the ruby red promised. Smells quite sweet, the initial taste is fresh with a hint of toffee, this is fairly refreshing, and gives way to a nice tasting beer.
This is unusual, tastes great for my money and a decent attempt at trying to be a little different.
