Another beer brewed by for Aldi, this time the brewers are Hogs Back Brewery Co who are based in Surrey. This one I have here is Sunny Dayz Golden Ale, described as a well balanced hoppy and mandarin citrus taste with strong floral notes.
Arriving in a tiny 330ml bottle and brewed at a lowly 3.8% this sounds and looks like a session beer all day long, but will I want to drink more than one?
This is definitely Golden to the colour, has a fruity aroma, first taste this is fairly fresh has a clean slightly bitter fruity flavour. Maybe slightly bland as you’d hope for a little more flavour to shine through.
This is ok, a golden ale that does what it says on the tin, very inoffensive and goes down fine and at 99p a bottle you can’t really complain, I would happily sink a few of these in a row so definitely a session beer, only problem being the small bottle size and a few gulps and it’s gone.
If you like your beers blonde and fresh, you could do worse than this.
