HALL & WOODHOUSE
Review by Andy
This rich, smooth brew has a softly spiced sweetness with dark liquorice notes and a fruity damson aroma. Poachers Choice is a gutsy ruby ale that is well matched with hearty game pie or a tangy mature cheese.
We’ve tried a few from the Badger stable now, with mixed results. This one is a very rich ruby colour, smells very fruity. The taste is nothing like your traditional Badger ales, this is very fruity and very rich, loads of flavours in this. Perfect accompaniment to a warming stew, pie or roast dinner.
This is something that is definitely a little on the different side, you wouldn’t want to drink more than one of these in a row, however it is worth a try, not my personal cup of tea but if you like full bodied, rich beers give this a shot.
