“A smooth ale with a golden caramel complexion. The perfect beer for a summer garden.” Michael Gibbons, Co-op Member Luton
Another one from the Co-op and Robinsons Brewery link-up. As with the IPA I reviewed yesterday, not too much thought has gone into the name, this one is known simply as Golden Ale.
Again a great design, this one has the Robinsons Brewery building on the front of the bottle – with a nice cartoon style illustration. Sticking to their local routes, which is always a good thing for me.
Poured, this is not golden in colour as I expected, more a nice copper, decent size head and fairly non descriptive aroma. This is fairly refreshing meant to be hints of caramel but I can’t taste that.
Brewed at 4% this is definitely aimed as a session beer and it is one you cold happily sink a few of.
Decent enough beer without being earth shattering. I’ve enjoyed these two beers from this Co-op and Robinsons range thus far, and I will definitely be keeping my eye out for the 3rd one in the range – Triple Hop.
