BRUTAL BREWING
FLAT TIRE
Review by Andy
BRUTAL SAY…
A lager that pours smoothly without an over-inflated head, Pistonhead Flat Tire has a balanced and rich malt body and balanced, slightly marked bitterness. Centennial and Mosaic varieties of American hops give the brew a fresh floral aroma with hints of tropical fruit and citrus.
THE TASTE
Once poured, this is a fairly bright yellow in colour, with an aroma of your standard lager, perhaps a touch on the fruity side.
The taste is a tropical fruits lager, you get the Mosaic hop flavour that seems so popular today, fairly fruity although not over bearing. A decent bit of depth to the flavours, finishes with a little bitter hit.
THE VERDICT
These Mosaic hopped lager/craft beers are hugely popular at the moment, they are literally everywhere. This one is not a bad attempt, the sweetness is turned down a few notches and what you get is a perfectly palatable beer.
