ALDI
LAND OF LIBERTY
Review by Andy
ALDI SAY…
Another beer brewed by for Aldi, this time the brewers are Sadlers, based in the West Midlands. This one is called Land of Liberty which is an American style IPA, described as a zesty citrus sweet taste with an aroma to match with a hint of grapefruit and sweet malts.
THE TASTE
Brewed as a 5.0% American style IPA this is a classic, trying to be cool, attempt to fit into the wave of American hoppy IPA’s that have flooded the brewing market in recent years.
Golden in appearance, with a hoppy, fruity aroma this reminds me of a Badger Ale to the smell. Tastes very bitter, is that the grapefruit? Tastes like a lorry load of grapefruit and lemon, very bitter, I was expecting a fruity American IPA and that hits me, wow.
THE VERDICT
I’ve enjoyed the Aldi brewed beers thus far, Sunny Dayz was nice and All 4 One was more than decent, however this is not great, it has a way too strong unpleasant aftertaste, misses the mark for me.
